O’Neal to Co-Host Seniors for Safe Driving Program

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced he is co-hosting with Seniors for Safe Driving a seminar on Thursday, Oct. 12, to help mature drivers sharpen their skills.

The PennDOT-approved program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department Station 2, 172 Oak Spring Road, Washington. A free lunch will be provided.

“Refreshing your knowledge of traffic laws and best practices to drive safely is always valuable,” O’Neal said. “This program involves no behind-the-wheel instruction. Instead, all learning will occur in the classroom. Prior participants have always reported that they found this event useful. I encourage attendance not only for the learning aspect, but also for the discount on vehicle insurance.”

By taking the course, participants will learn about current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicle safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment. No on-the-road driving or classroom testing will occur.

The cost to attend is $16 paid directly to Seniors for Safe Driving, and participants receive a 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years.
