O’Neal Leads Effort to Bring Grant Funding for Needed Projects
December 18, 2025
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today announced more than $1.4 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for projects throughout the 48th Legislative District.
Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of LSA gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
“These grants will tackle pressing issues in the 48th Legislative District,” O’Neal said. “By addressing sewer and water problems, residents will have access to clean, quality water, and sewer will be properly treated. This benefits the community as a whole, too, as environmental issues are reduced. I will continue to advocate for funds for Washington County.”
Those receiving grants are:
• North Strabane Township Municipal Authority – $95,000 for purchase and installation of a pump at the Waterdam Farms Pump Station.
• Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority – $952,600 to extend a waterline along Lone Pine, Brush Run and Pump Station roads in Amwell Township.
The 48th Legislative District in Washington County covers the city of Washington; Amwell, part of Carroll (Districts 3, 4 and 5), East Finley, Fallowfield, Morris, North Franklin, part of North Strabane (Districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), Nottingham, Somerset, South Franklin, South Strabane, and West Finley townships; and the boroughs of Donora, East Washington and Green Hills.
